This weekend

We went to Pumpkin Fest at Prince of Peace Church in Elk Grove. Gabe had a great time he got to play on the jumper and sit with pumpkins. Our first fall pics of pumpkins im sure there will be more.

Other news, im just working really hard but everything else is just a.o.k.

We did it!!!!

Before all the floods started though, My friend Val and I went on a 5k walk for the Walter Payton Cancer foundation. 6 am and im trying to find her house in the pouring rain!! Finally got there, and to my surprise there were LOTS of people there!!! Nothing was going to stop them!!

Everthing was wet and soaked!!! After a while you didn't even notice it. The walk took us all over Arlington Heights. we finished in 50 minutes and then waited for results to be posted. other people ran the 9.5 mile run they had and so we helped cheer them on. I was such a misrable day but we had a great time. Afterwards we went to a local resturant and drank beer(at 10:30 in the morning!!!)Well worth it!!!

FLOOD!!!!!!

And it poured, and poured, and poured!!!! The banks of the salt creek overflowed and we were stuck in our complex but before it got too bad we went to the hotel to stay. Driving through water that reached the tops of the wheel wells on the cars. some cars didn't heed the blockades that were put up and they got literally washed away. we finally came home on tuesday and after helping to clean up all the dirt and sandbags we are finally back to normal.

Gabriels 4th b-day!!

The following day was Gabes b-day. yea he's 4!!! We went swimming at the holiday inn and then breakfast. Then we went to SAFARI LAND. Wayyyyyyy coollll. they have lots of rides, games, and food. there is a 12 lane bowling alley, a roller coaster, go karts, bumper cars, and a tiltawhirl!! Gabe had a great time!!!

After safari land we went home and gabe and i went on a long long walk to DQ. You would think that was enough but nooooo we then went to glenview where howie was working an inflatables party for a school carnival. Gabe got to go on the jumpers over and over. He was one tired little kid. At home he got a chocolate cupcake (no candles mommy) and a beenie baby Fish that he has had his eye on for a long time.

Grandma Dorothy Turns 90!

Well the huge surprize party for my MIL was a huge success!! We (howie,gabe, my SIL Barb and my BIL Bob) took her to LOng john silvers for Lunch. She used to work there 6 years ago.! She thought that was very "nice". Afterwards, we all left and acted like we were just going to go home but instead we went to where she lives where people were waiting to surprize her with a bigger party!! She was totally surprized and called me a sneak for keeping it a secret from her!!

Birthday part II

o.k. so we went to bakers square where we got our meal on the house. then we came home and howie and i fell asleep. woke up around 4 and made porkchops for dinner and then I wanted to go have a drink so i drove to bahana breeze and had a bahama mama. Nice, tall, fruity, and very alcoholic. I came home and made a cinnabon coffee cake.

It's MY BIRTHDAY!~!~!

Yup today i am officially 43!! I want to go do a whole mess of things but lack of money and husband enthusiasm looks like none of it will get to happen. oh well, I am at least hoping to go to lunch and dinner maybe. or at least a drink out somewhere...... everyone else gets to celebrate their birthdays just because MINE is on Labor day!!!! everything is closed~!!!!

Well at least my restaurant is closed so i wouldn't have to worry about working today....

Well it's still early hope springs eternal..........
